My long time career in the Maryland real estate market has evolved beyond just being a Realtor, helping clients sell and buy homes. When sellers need to get their houses on the market, even the cleanest home can be cleaner. Most sellers don’t want to remove art from walls in fear of the marks that will show. And there are typically always easy fixes they need to do to make the overall showing experience more flawless. When I have a new Maryland Buyer, it’s not much different. You want your buyer clients to take care of their investment and maintain a tidy household.

top five household products

When you visit a Realtor’s home, it should be a solid reflection of what they advise to their clients. Naturally when I entertain at my house, it’s very important to me that my guests notice the meticulous maintenance that I’ve kept up on.

Top 5 Household Products
every homeowner should have:

1. O-Cedar spin bucket (Amazon $45)
Yep, I didn’t it. This bucket kept coming up on my FB feed and I gave in. Not only am I glad I did, I’ve given them as gifts! So many Maryland homes have LVT flooring. I got tired of having to change out my dried up swifter pads. The spinner on the bucket eliminates access cleaning solution from sitting on the flooring. The mop comes with removable microfiber heads. The mop heads just get tossed into the washing machine!

2. Fabuloso
I fell in love with Fabuloso in Mexico while vacationing with my sister. We asked housekeeping what they used…and the rest is history. I clean everything with it as well as mix it with hot water in my O-Cedar spin bucket for the floors.

3. Command Strips
Believe it or not I was an Art major in college. I love art but rarely put nails or screws in my walls. I use Command strip for most all my art work. Command strips are strong but what I love the most is the easy of their removal. If you peal them off correctly, they don’t remove paint or leave marks. All of the art you see in the photo to the right is hung with Command strips!
*Landlord Tip: Require your tenants to ONLY use these.

4. Mini Leveler
Most of us have a level. And it’s probably 3′ long. Chances are you aren’t framing up a wall. Every household needs a small level. It makes hanging shelving and art work so much easier. I will admit, the art shown in the photo above…I eyeballed!

5. WD-40
Last but far from the least, WD-40 is a greaser and a cleaner of all kinds! We all use it for squeaking doors. But you can use it as a lubricant, clean off corrosion & rust, helps get paint of a brush, gum out of your hair, help with tangled necklaces, clean the under rim of your toilet bowl, etc.

We all don’t have the budget to renovate our homes, but it doesn’t take much to make the most out of what you have. This “Top 5” list was made to help both Sellers and Buyers do just that!
