The hunt
I’ve been a full time Maryland Realtor for almost 20 years now and I’m still coming across hidden gems in Baltimore! In this transaction I am representing the seller. But just 4 years ago, I represented the same client in the purchase of this property. This seller came to me from out of state. She was excited to explore the different neighborhoods and find all that Baltimore had to offer. But she had a 4-year plan. She wanted to advance in her nursing career amongst all the great hospitals in the area and also get her daughter through her first 4-year college degree!
It was the beginning of COVID. Yep! She made her way through the unfamiliar territory while maneuvering through all the unfamiliar new ways of life that was brought on with COVID. She toured the area alone for a bit, just getting the lay of the land. Then after speaking with her, I suggested a handful of areas that seemed to fit what she had described as her wants and needs. She wanted to be in the city limits but not on top of the downtown area. She wanted the outskirts of northern Baltimore but with a heartbeat! She wanted to be able to get around with ease in her car but also wanted a “walkable” area with shops and restaurants to frequent.
Hidden pockets
It was merely by chance we stumbled on the intimate neighborhood of The Lakewood Community. The Lakewood Community is nestled right between Bellona-Gitting and Homeland.
129 Fireside Circle, Baltimore, MD 21212 sits just off the corner of Charles Street and Lake Ave. The community is literally one circle of homes. If you’ve driven through the Northern section of Baltimore City, chances are you’ve driven through these breathtaking sights. Just traveling on Lake Ave you get to take in all of the large historic homes and their well-manicured lots. Not a bad view coming and going from 129 Fireside Circle.
My client knew this was the neighborhood she wanted to pursue and after a little research, we found that since the community is so small, it’s also very rare to find them available. We landed the deal, and she spent the first couple of years renovating the house to suit her better.
On the right is a photo of us in the PINK dining room, in 2020. And yes, that was one of the first rooms she got painted!
4 years later
It’s now 2024 and she’s accomplished all that she wanted here in Baltimore, in exactly the 4-years she had planned on doing it in. She’s ready for her next chapter and hoping to help someone else start their own new chapter in this very community.
"Suzie did a great job capturing my journey and 129 Fireside. Even your photographer was stunned by the amount of space there is. One tour of this place after Rodgers Forge and you will know where you want to be. Peaceful and so convenient to 83 and 695. You can get anywhere."

I’m excited to welcome to the market, 129 Fireside Circle of Baltimore, MD!
Here’s your chance to get into this rarely available community. The Lakewood Community is a hidden gem surrounded by other gorgeous homes! This is a small community and has an HOA that is run by the homeowners. 129 Fireside Circle sits on a large circle that is well maintained and manicured. Since the seller has owned the property, there’s been some great upgrades. As you enter the foyer through the newly installed Pella door, there is a ½ bath on the main level, a spacious living room and new sliders to enter the back patio/gardens. Entertain from the recently renovated gourmet kitchen. This kitchen has new cabinets w/ self-close drawers, quartz counters, tiled backsplash, breakfast bar, and stainless appliances. A wood burning fireplace separates the kitchen from the eat-in area at the front of the house. The back side of the home and to the other side of the kitchen’s breakfast bar is space for a true dining area with great natural light. New hardwood floors have been installed in the living room, dining room, 3 upper bedrooms, and the upstairs hallway. On the second level there is a true master suite with an attached full bathroom and a walk-in closet. There are 2 more bedrooms upstairs and an additional full bath to share. The basement has a wall of closets that allows you to use the basement for storage but also an additional living space. The basement has another half bath and an egress door to the backyard. The entire backyard is fully fenced-in (also newly installed) brick patio with a shed that makes gardening even easier. She also had a brand-new roof installed in 2021. Don’t let this townhome fool you, it is large at nearly 2,000-square-feet!
